Dylan Osetkowski, the 2.06-meter, 28-year-old power forward, has been a hot topic since the summer, with Radio MARCA Málaga reporting that Real Madrid is eyeing him to replace Guerschon Yabusele, who recently left Madrid to pursue a second stint in the NBA with the Sixers following the Olympics.

Osetkowski, who was initially set to join Barcelona, faced a setback after testing positive for banned substances. As a result, his transfer from Unicaja was halted, with the length of his impending suspension still uncertain—ranging from one to three months. While Unicaja awaits details on the suspension, they signed Olek Balcerowski as cover.

After Real Madrid’s loss in the Spanish Super Cup to Unicaja, head coach Chus Mateo made it clear that the club is looking to bolster the squad. He stated, "We’re not going to sit idly by. It’s tough to endure 90 games with only 13 players. We’re being patient and will choose wisely. The club is already working on it."

While Los Blancos aren't rushing into signings, Osetkowski is one of the names on their shortlist. However, his potential suspension complicates matters. Osetkowski is appealing to Madrid due to his European passport (German national), allowing him to avoid non-EU restrictions, and his ability to play both power forward and center. He also has extensive experience in the ACB.

The major hurdle for Real Madrid is Osetkowski's €800,000 release clause. Despite Yabusele’s departure potentially freeing up some funds, the recent renewals of Walter Tavares and Mario Hezonja have significantly impacted the club's budget.
