The Madrid Innovation District (MID) was officially unveiled in the boardroom of Real Madrid City. Set to be developed on the club’s vast Valdebebas grounds, this ambitious new urban space aims to unite companies, researchers, and entrepreneurs in a collaborative environment that fosters innovation and development.

The event was attended by key figures including Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez, Community of Madrid President Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and Madrid Mayor José Luis Martínez-Almeida.

The primary goal of the MID is to attract global leaders in research and innovation, establishing a hub where cutting-edge technology companies and academic institutions can thrive side by side. The project seeks to generate synergies and create Europe’s most important technology district—a place where talent, knowledge, and creativity converge.

Real Madrid is providing 850,000 square meters of land in Valdebebas for the project, a prime location close to Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport, IFEMA, and the Santiago Bernabéu. The area boasts excellent connectivity and strategic positioning, making it ideal for the district’s development.

In addition to infrastructure, the club brings its globally recognized values, sporting legacy, and powerful brand to support the initiative. The MID is set to become a living, working, and learning space, blending sport and technology to enhance the experience of both fans and athletes.

During the presentation, Florentino Pérez stated: “We are facing a major challenge—to build a great technological city together that will allow Madrid to continue advancing as a global example of innovation and progress. This project is a unique opportunity to make Madrid the leading tech capital of Southern Europe.”
