Luis Rubiales appeared in front of the media as the head of Spanish football to explain the Federation's position on everything related to Vinicius' racist incident in Mestalla and other stadiums.

He was open and honest: "It has taken a dimension that goes beyond football. There is a problem in our country of behaviour, education and racism. As long as there is only one who insults based on condition or skin colour, we have a serious problem. One undesirable, two or a group. It doesn't matter. It stains an entire country, a city and a club. We are a welcoming country, but as long as there is one... Vinicius Junior or any man or woman who suffers an insult has everything our support and solidarity".

Rubiales distinguishes between the racist insults and Vinicius' actions. "You can not compare the problem to his behavior; that is up to the referees. Vinicius is more correct than appears. We have set the goal of having Vinicius and any other player say that this is no longer a problem".

Rubiales sends a note to Javier Tebas and invites the president of the Brazilian Confederation to visit the City of Football. "Few countries, such as Spain, admire Brazilian football. Many have arrived, and they must coexist peacefully. I would like to invite the president of the Brazilian Confederation to attend or to accompany me so that he can witness what the Federation is doing to combat this. I would also like you to forget the behaviour of the president of La Liga getting into an argument with a player who was severely abused".
