Cody Gakpo is one of the many names which was linked to Real Madrid in the recent weeks, due to his impressive performance in the Qatar World Cup 2022.
The legendary Dutchman René Van de Kerkhof revealed in his podcast the intense interest Real Madrid would have in Cody Gakpo: "I have trustworthy Spanish sources that report that Real want to get Cody Gakpo as successor to Benzema." The Dutch myth's brother also confirmed the rumors, saying, "What I heard is that they have a serious interest in Gakpo there, but PSV definitely should not sell him for less than 75 million euros this winter. Although that amount is not a problem for that club".
If Real Madrid get more serious about this deal, current PSV coach and former Real Madrid player, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, may play a positive role to help the attacker join Real Madrid.
