Real Madrid is currently awaiting a response from Mario Hezonja regarding their latest renewal offer, which was presented on Friday morning. Negotiations between the white club and the Croatian player remain ongoing, despite recent reports suggesting that Hezonja had already signed a four-year contract with Barcelona. According to club sources, Hezonja has not yet responded to Real Madrid's latest proposal, and they deny any confirmed agreement with Barcelona.

Hezonja's agent has assured Real Madrid that no agreement will be reached with another entity while negotiations with the Madrid club are ongoing, unless an unlikely NBA offer emerges. Barcelona has also denied the rumored signing and claims they do not have the financial means to match the supposed leaked agreement, which reportedly offers Hezonja three million euros net per season over four years.

Contact between Real Madrid and Hezonja’s agent continued on Friday morning, leading to the proposal sent just hours before the MARCA newspaper announced the forward's alleged signing with Barcelona. As it stands, all options remain open, and Hezonja could still accept Real Madrid's offer.

Sources from Barcelona maintain that they do not have the budget to guarantee Hezonja a contract worth 24 million euros gross. They also emphasize that they would not reach an agreement with a player who is subject to the right of first refusal and is negotiating with Real Madrid without prior notification. Historically, Barcelona has respected the agreement with Real Madrid to notify them before making a proposal to one of their players, as seen in the case of Willy Hernangómez last summer.

Hezonja’s agent has committed to not signing with another club until negotiations with Real Madrid conclude. Thus, the situation remains unresolved, with Real Madrid hopeful for a positive response from Hezonja soon.
