The Real Madrid basketball team has officially kicked off the 2024-25 preseason. The players, after completing their medical examinations at the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital-Ana de Austria Building, have returned to training under the guidance of coach Chus Mateo. The initial training session focused on stretching and physical conditioning in the gym, followed by ball exercises and shooting drills on the court.
Real Madrid will play three preseason friendly matches as they prepare for the upcoming season. Their first game is against Benfica on Saturday, September 7, at the La Granadilla pavilion in Badajoz, with tip-off at 8:00 p.m. They will then face Monaco on Wednesday, September 11, at the Municipal Sports Pavilion in Pontevedra, also at 8:00 p.m. The final preseason match will be against Openjobmetis Varese on Saturday, September 14, at the Menorca pavilion, starting at 7:30 p.m.
Following these preparations, the team will officially begin the season with a high-stakes encounter against Barcelona in the semi-final of the Endesa Super Cup on Saturday, September 21, in Murcia, with the game scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
