Real Madrid encountered a problem for which there is no immediate solution. La Liga regulations allow three non-EU players on the field.

Those places are and will be for Militao, Vinicius, and Rodrygo.

The issue arises because none of the three will be granted dual citizenship until January.

Kubo and Reinier are also affected by the issue. Two young players who are not EU citizens.

The described situation complicates the arrival of a guaranteed player to be an occasional replacement for Karim Benzema next season.

The search is currently limited to players who have a community passport.

For the upcoming season, Real Madrid requires a player who is not a foreigner.

Gabriel Jesus was an option for the Merengues. The Brazilian player, however, does not meet the passport requirements.

The Merengues want to find a player to assist Benzema, but that player cannot replace the French starter.

Vinicius was unable to obtain his passport due to the pandemic.

The Brazilian arrived in Spain in July 2018, and four years later, with the above criteria met, the Spanish government would have already granted the Brazilian the passport.

Citizens of certain countries could apply for dual nationality after two years of residency in Spain and receive approval months later.
