Real Madrid have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot for next season following the expiration of his contract with Baskonia.

According to BasketNews, the French forward has chosen to join Real Madrid despite attracting interest from several other EuroLeague clubs. The deal is expected to be finalized in the coming days.

Luwawu-Cabarrot enjoyed the best campaign of his career with Baskonia, averaging 18.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 25 minutes per game. He also shot 55 percent from two-point range, 41 percent from beyond the arc and 90 percent from the free-throw line. Although Baskonia fell short of expectations in European competition, the club won the Copa del Rey, with the Frenchman playing an important role.

The 31-year-old is known for his versatility on both ends of the floor. He can defend multiple positions and is particularly effective as a catch-and-shoot three-point specialist, while also posing a threat in transition.

Luwawu-Cabarrot also brings significant NBA experience, having played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Chicago Bulls, Atlanta Hawks and Brooklyn Nets before returning to Europe.
