Real Madrid are close to completing the signing of Damian Jones as they continue strengthening their basketball roster for the 2026-27 season.
The 2.13-meter center spent eight seasons in the NBA, winning consecutive championships with the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018. During his NBA career, he made 279 regular-season appearances for the Warriors, Hawks, Suns, Lakers, Kings, Jazz and Cavaliers.
After his final NBA season with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2023-24, Jones continued his career overseas. Last season, he averaged 9.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game with the Zhejiang Golden Bulls in China before joining a club in Puerto Rico this summer, where he has recorded 13.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.5 blocks across 10 appearances.
If the transfer is completed, Jones will make his first appearance in European basketball as he joins Pedro Martínez's squad ahead of the new season.
