The Real Madrid hierarchy is becoming more and more concerned about David Alaba's current run of form, as reported by Diario AS, which provided an update on the Austrian's situation in the Spanish capital.
Alaba started the game against Union Berlin in midweek. And although Los Blancos ultimately won, the former Bayern Munich man caused concern after making an error leading to Union’s opener.
This is only the most recent in a long list of errors he has made this season, with AS also claiming that Alaba cost his team against Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, and Real Betis. This has not gone unnoticed at the Santiago Bernabéu offices, either.
It is understood that by this stage of his career, the 31-year-old was supposed to have returned to the wing. Nonetheless, Carlo Ancelotti is adamant about playing Alaba as a central defender, and Éder Militão's long-term injury has further restricted the Italian's options.
It is claimed that club directors are closely monitoring their player, "whose errors worry Real Madrid more and more."
