According to AS, the Spanish club is prepared to pay a symbolic fee of approximately €2 million, which would cover both the transfer cost and Alexander-Arnold’s salary starting in June. This figure is seen as a manageable expense for Real Madrid, especially considering the strategic value of the signing.

The only hurdle remaining is obtaining Liverpool’s approval. The English club has been firm in negotiations, but Real Madrid remains optimistic, buoyed by the fact that Alexander-Arnold is enthusiastic about the move and eager to play in the Club World Cup, which kicks off on June 14 in the United States.

If the deal is finalized, Alexander-Arnold is expected to slot directly into the starting right-back position, with Dani Carvajal still sidelined by injury. His arrival would mark the second major reinforcement for the defense after the signing of Dean Huijsen, with Álvaro Carreras also on the verge of joining as the new left-back — part of Xabi Alonso’s defensive overhaul.

The official decision is expected after La Liga concludes on May 25, but internally, confidence remains strong that the deal will go through. Fans are watching closely, hoping the English international becomes the latest Galáctico to reinforce the club ahead of the summer campaign.
