Ferland Mendy made a strong case for himself this season. According to Marca, the club has decided to reconsider and is now prepared to extend his contract beyond 2025. The French full-back, who turns 29 next month, has been playing well, and the club was considering finding a way to sell him this summer. However, they have reconsidered their plan with the former Olympique Lyon player in light of his impressive play.

However, the newspaper explains that this change of position at Real Madrid does not mean that his renewal is closed, it is far from it. They will just begin to work with an eye on a contract extension to ensure the continuity of Ferland Mendy. The player, by the way, has aroused the interest of  Premier League clubs and Saudi Arabia, according to the same report.

If anyone at Real Madrid is a big fan of the French full-back, it is definitely Carlo Ancelotti. Mendy has played 33 games this season, and the Italian coach has never stopped praising his efforts in public or in private. It is actually his second-best total in this category since moving to the Santiago Bernabéu in the summer of 2019, only behind the 38 games he participated in during Zinedine Zidane's final season in 2020-21.
