Real Madrid continue to plan for the future as they shape their transfer strategy ahead of next season. While José Mourinho's arrival has shifted the club's focus toward signing established stars from Europe's top leagues, the board remains committed to securing some of the game's brightest young talents.

One of those players is Dutch prospect Kees Smit, who continues to be monitored by the club despite other priorities in the transfer market.

Real Madrid's main objective for midfield remains the signing of an experienced player such as Enzo Fernández. As a result, a move for Smith is not being considered for next season due to limited squad space and the club's immediate needs.

According to the latest reports, Real Madrid are instead evaluating a strategy similar to the one used when signing Endrick. The Brazilian agreed to join the club at the end of 2023 but had to wait until the summer of 2024 to complete the move because he was under the age of 18.

Although the circumstances are different, as Smit is already of legal age, Real Madrid are reportedly considering delaying his arrival. Such a plan would give the club more time to create room in the squad while also allowing the transfer fee to be accounted for in the following financial year.
