Following accusations made against Barcelona by the Barcelona Prosecutor's Office for the "Negreira Case," Real Madrid took action. The club has officially announced that an urgent meeting has been called to decide "the actions" they deem necessary "in relation to this matter."
"Given the seriousness of the accusations made by the Barcelona Prosecutor's Office against FC Barcelona and two of its presidents for well-founded suspicions of corruption and their relations with whoever was the vice president of the Technical Committee of Referees, José Mara Enriquez Negreira," reads the text that the white club shared.
"The president has urgently convened the Board of Directors on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 12:00, in order to decide on the actions that Real Madrid deems appropriate in relation to this matter," the statement said.
Real Madrid, except from the words of Emilio Butragueño, had been waiting for the Prosecutor's decision regarding the 'Negreira Case'. Once the complaint against the club and also against Josep María Bartomeu and Sandro Rosell, former presidents, and against Oscar Grau and Albert Soler, has been formalized, the white club has not taken long to speak out.
