Real Madrid have entered the competition for Borussia Dortmund centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck, who is also attracting strong interest from Barcelona, according to BILD. The German international is considering a move away from Dortmund in the upcoming summer window, despite the club presenting him with a highly attractive renewal offer.
Schlotterbeck is understood to be open to joining a top European side, with his future increasingly pointing away from Signal Iduna Park. His current contract runs until June 2027, and Borussia Dortmund have reportedly placed a valuation of around €70 million on the defender. That figure, however, could be revised if he ultimately rejects the proposed contract extension.
Real Madrid’s interest comes as the club prepare for a reshaping of their defensive line next summer. The expected departures of David Alaba and Antonio Rüdiger have made the search for a new centre-back a priority, placing Schlotterbeck firmly on the club’s radar.
