Real Madrid and Gonzalo García have reached an agreement to extend the forward’s contract, securing his stay at the club for the next five seasons, until June 30, 2030.
Gonzalo joined the club’s youth academy in 2014 at just 10 years old and has spent a decade developing within the system, including the past two seasons with Castilla. He made his first-team debut in November 2023 and contributed to the La Liga title that season. He was the top scorer at the last Club World Cup and earned a place in FIFA’s Best XI.
In the most recent season, Gonzalo scored 25 goals for Castilla, making him the top scorer in the Primera Federación since its inception. This tally also matched the best regular-season scoring record for a Castilla player in the 21st century. His earlier achievements include winning the treble with the U19 team in the 2022-23 season (league, Copa del Rey, and Copa de Campeones) as well as the Copa del Rey in 2021-22.
From now on, Gonzalo will be part of Real Madrid’s first-team squad.
