Real Madrid's recent injury problems have made signing reinforcements increasingly urgent. The club was already close to bringing in a player to replace Gabriel Deck, but the latest setbacks have made the need even greater. Although Madrid are always open to strengthening their squad, their increasingly limited rotation now makes a move on the market almost essential.

The injuries to Mikael Jantunen, who suffered a complete rupture of the plantar fascia in his left foot, and Theo Maledon, who sustained a sprain in his right knee, have added to an already lengthy list of absentees. Usman Garuba is expected to miss almost the entire season, while Deck will be sidelined for around four months after undergoing shoulder surgery. Nick Smith Jr. is also struggling with problems involving the plantar fascia.

These setbacks have reduced the available squad from 17 players to just 12. Among those still fit, Max Shulga and Olivier Sarr are making slow progress in adapting to European basketball. Meanwhile, captain Sergio Llull has only featured in the Liga Endesa so far. Although he was included in the squad for Thursday's game against Fenerbahce, he did not play and has yet to make an appearance in the EuroLeague this season. Garuba and Llull are the only players who have not seen any action in European competition.

The schedule offers little room for recovery, with nine games in November and another 11 in December. The demanding run begins with Sunday's clash against Recoletas Salud San Pablo Burgos, followed by next Wednesday's meeting with Panathinaikos.

Those who remain available will inevitably have to take on more minutes, increasing the risk of further physical problems. Real Madrid are therefore already exploring the market for reinforcements, looking both for immediate help and to reduce the workload on some of their key players.
