Real Madrid have made two adjustments to their Champions League A and B lists. UEFA set specific deadlines for player registration: September 3 for the group stage and February 6 for the knockout rounds. In light of the defensive injuries plaguing the first team, Real Madrid have added Loren Aguado and Enrique Ribes Recaj as Ancelotti's reinforcements for the final phase of the competition.

Each club is allowed a maximum of 25 players on List A at any given time during the season. This must include at least two goalkeepers on List A and three in total across both Lists A and B. Additionally, eight of the 25 slots are reserved for "locally trained players." List B, meanwhile, permits an unlimited number of youth players who meet UEFA’s criteria: born on or after January 1, 2003, and having been eligible to play for the club for an uninterrupted two-year period since the age of 15, or a total of three consecutive years with a one-year loan period, if applicable.

Loren Aguado and Enrique Ribes were initially left off Madrid’s Champions League A list and were ineligible for List B due to their age. UEFA’s regulations kept them out, but Ancelotti saw fit to bring them back for the final phase by adding them to List A to help ease the first team’s defensive crisis. Loren Aguado had already been a fixture in Madrid’s Champions League travels, taking part in the U.S. tour this past summer, debuting in El Clásico, and even traveling with the team to Brest despite being unable to play.

Loren has earned praise for his dedication, attitude, and seamless integration into the squad whenever he’s been called up. A product of La Fábrica, he’s an example of perseverance paying off. Enrique Ribes, on the other hand, joined Real Madrid’s youth academy in the summer of 2023, initially playing for Real Madrid C. He has since featured in 18 games for Raúl's Castilla side this season, earning his spot as one of Ancelotti’s defensive reinforcements.
