Despite Fábio Silva opening the scoring for the visitors, a brace from Mbappé and a goal from Brahim turned the game around, giving Madrid a 3-1 lead by halftime. Rodrygo added a fourth in the second half, which also saw David Alaba make his return after 399 days out due to injury. The scoreline could have been greater, as Real Madrid had three goals disallowed throughout the match.
