Real Madrid’s run in the FIFA Club World Cup came to an abrupt end in the semifinals with a disappointing defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. Despite the on-pitch setback, the tournament turned into a major financial success, as the club earned a hefty €80 million for reaching the final four, according to Marca.

Luis Enrique’s PSG side looked dominant against Xabi Alonso’s Madrid, but the players didn’t leave empty-handed. Each first-team member received €280,000 in bonuses, structured as follows: €50,000 for advancing from the group stage, €80,000 for reaching the Round of 16 and €150,000 for making it to the semifinals

These figures reflect the high stakes and expectations the club had set for the tournament—even if the final result fell short.

In the aftermath, the squad has been granted just over three weeks of rest. Preseason training will resume on August 4, 2025, as Alonso prepares his team for the new campaign. With the LaLiga opener against Osasuna scheduled for August 19, Real Madrid faces a condensed 15-day preparation window—though there is still a chance the match may be postponed to allow more recovery time.
