Real Madrid are already outlining their strategy for the upcoming summer transfer window, and the club reportedly has a clear priority plan in place. According to journalist Alberto Pereiro, the first €100 million the club intends to invest would be directed toward signing Rodri and Nico Schlotterbeck.
This potential investment is considered the board’s main transfer objective, while any additional signings would depend on outgoing transfers. In other words, further reinforcements would only arrive if the club generates funds through player sales.
The urgency behind these targets is linked to two key areas where Real Madrid believe the squad needs strengthening. In defense, the team has struggled with a series of serious injuries over recent seasons, leaving the back line fragile and forcing the club to search for a dependable center-back on the market.
Several names had previously been considered, including Ibrahima Konaté and Dayot Upamecano, but the focus now appears to be shifting toward Schlotterbeck, who is viewed as a strong option to reinforce the defensive line.
Meanwhile, the midfield has also raised concerns throughout the current campaign. Real Madrid have often lacked control and stability in crucial matches, something the club believes could be solved by bringing in Rodri, widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in world football.
Signing the Manchester City star, who also won the Ballon d'Or, would provide leadership, tactical intelligence, and elite-level experience to help organize the team’s play.
However, both potential transfers come with a degree of physical risk. The Spanish midfielder and the German defender have both recently dealt with significant injuries, particularly knee problems, which the club will have to evaluate carefully before making a final decision.
