After knocking out Atlético Madrid in the round of 16, Real Madrid continues its Champions League journey, also significantly boosting its earnings from the competition. The club has now accumulated more than €100 million this season, specifically €101.83 million, according to data from the Football Meets Data website, which is €267,000 more than their rivals, FC Barcelona. This figure is approaching the €141 million they earned last season when they secured their fifteenth European Cup.
Currently, Real Madrid ranks as the sixth-highest-earning team in the Champions League this season, trailing Bayern Munich (€105.87 million), Paris Saint-Germain (€104.42 million), Inter Milan (€103.13 million), Borussia Dortmund (€102.16 million), and Arsenal (€102 million).
Real Madrid’s earnings come from various sources. First, there is the €18.62 million all teams received for participating in this season’s Champions League. Additionally, Real Madrid earned €27.12 million from television rights distribution (market pool) and €12.45 million for their position in UEFA’s rankings at the start of the season.
On the sporting side, the club collected €24.5 million for advancing through the playoffs and the round of 16, and €19.14 million for their group-stage performance (€10.5 million for five wins and €8.64 million for finishing eleventh). These impressive earnings could continue to rise with further success: €15 million for reaching the semi-finals, €18.5 million for reaching the final, €6.5 million for winning it, and an additional €4 million for participating in the European Super Cup as Champions League champions.
