Real Madrid academy center-back Joan Martinez suffered an ACL injury last week, sidelining the 16-year-old for at least six months. Despite the setback, Marca reports that Los Blancos have assured the young defender that he will be offered a new and improved contract.
The club and Martinez had already reached an agreement on a deal before the injury, but the club's decision to enhance the offer demonstrates their commitment and trust in his future.
Martinez, who was part of the first team during pre-season, is regarded as one of the brightest talents in Real Madrid's academy.
