Last Thursday at the Christmas lunch, one of the most talked-about topics was the new Santiago Bernabéu. Florentino Pérez himself opened the event in front of the media, stating that "we are entering the final stretch of a transformation that will mark a before and after in the history of Real Madrid." The president noted that the completion of the stadium works this season will allow Real Madrid fans to "continue aspiring to be leaders in sports, economics and social matters, maintaining institutional stability and economic solidity."
No further delays are expected in a remodeling that has suffered the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and the inflation generated by the war in Ukraine. Before the end of this season, Real Madrid will have the stadium finished. And as a grand opening, the club has planned a whole month of sporting and non-sporting activities.
Aside from the concerts already planned for the upcoming summer period (Taylor Swift, May 28; Duki, June 8; Manuel Carrasco, June 29; and Luis Miguel, July 6 and 7), the club has prepared a celebration that will last weeks, full of events to honor the work. This summer will be very special and very different in Chamartín. The new Santiago Bernabéu is very close to opening its doors to the world with a few very special weeks full of events to celebrate the culmination of a pharaonic remodeling.
