In the upcoming months, Real Madrid will need to make some crucial decisions. The current League and Champions League champion has up to seven players whose contracts expire at the end of the current season, which is unusual for the club. We are talking Nacho, Karim Benzema, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Dani Ceballos, Marco Asensio, and Mariano Diaz.

Their situations are already more or less known by all. While Benzema, Modric and Nacho have their continuity practically guaranteed, the doubts with Kroos are sown by the player himself, who has not yet decided with retirement on the horizon. Asensio and Mariano seem sentenced, while the future of Ceballos is the biggest unknown.

Similarly, next summer the club is forced to make decisions with the players whose contract ends in 2024. These are the cases of Lucas Vázquez, Eden Hazard, Álvaro Odriozola and Andriy Lunin.

Odriozola will be put up for sale to try to make money; while for Hazard, the intentions are about to facilitate his departure since he recently complained publicly about his lack of playing time; and as for Lucas and Lunin, no decision has been made yet.

It is particularly surprising that Lucas Vázquez's future is still unclear. The Galician extended his contract in 2021 for three seasons, but he might leave next summer to leave some money in the club's coffers. And there is the case of Vinicius Tobias has convinced the management and may be the replacement for Carvajal on the right side, especially considering that there is now a free place for non-EU citizens after the nationalization of Vinicius a few weeks ago.
