Real Madrid are proud to announce the signing of Merle Frohms, who will join the club for the next three seasons, from July 1, 2025, until June 30, 2028.
Frohms arrives from VfL Wolfsburg, where she enjoyed an outstanding career, winning two UEFA Women’s Champions League titles, four Bundesliga championships, and seven German Cups.
At the international level, she was a key figure for the German national team between 2018 and 2024, finishing as runner-up at the 2022 European Championship and earning a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Following her Olympic success, Frohms chose to retire from international duty. Earlier in her career, she also lifted the U-20 Women’s World Cup and the U-17 European Championship.
Throughout her career, Frohms has played exclusively in Germany. After starting at Wolfsburg, she had spells at Freiburg and Eintracht Frankfurt before returning to Wolfsburg in 2022. Now, she embarks on a new chapter in Madrid.
