Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has strongly defended Vinicius Jr., arguing that the Brazilian winger’s red card in the match against Valencia was unjustified.
In the post-match press conference, Ancelotti expressed his disagreement with the referee's decision, stating: "Vini should not have been sent off. It should've been a yellow."
Ancelotti also revealed that Real Madrid will appeal the red card, aiming to have Vinicius Jr.'s suspension either overturned or reduced.
The Italian coach's remarks add to the ongoing controversy surrounding the match, which saw Real Madrid secure a 2-1 victory despite playing with 10 men for a significant portion of the game.
