Real Madrid will compete in the EuroLeague Play-In Tournament with their sights set on reaching the playoffs. The team will face Paris Basketball in a do-or-die clash at the Movistar Arena on Tuesday, April 15 at 9:00 PM.
A victory would secure seventh place for Chus Mateo’s squad and set up a playoff series against Fenerbahçe. However, a loss would send them into a second chance game on Friday, April 18, also at the Movistar Arena, against the winner of Bayern Munich vs. Red Star. The winner of that matchup would claim the eighth seed and face Olympiacos in the quarterfinals. A defeat in both games would eliminate Madrid from the competition.
Real Madrid closed out the regular season in seventh place with a 20–14 record, riding a six-game winning streak. Paris Basketball finished just behind in eighth, with one fewer win, edging out Red Star and Bayern Munich on basket average.
The two teams have met twice this season, with Madrid coming out on top in both encounters. They earned a dominant 85–96 win in Paris and edged a thrilling 105–104 victory at home.
