Real Madrid now know the location of their second potential title of the season, following their UEFA Super Cup win on August 14. FIFA has confirmed that the final of the Intercontinental Cup will take place in Doha, Qatar, on December 18, the anniversary of the World Cup final from two years ago.
The Intercontinental Cup, which returns to the calendar, will feature the champions of the six football confederations. The tournament will consist of five matches, starting on September 22, with the final on December 18. While the first two matches will be played in host countries, the remaining three, including the final, will take place in Qatar. As Champions League winners, Real Madrid will only participate in the final.
