According to MisterChip, Real Madrid have had more goals disallowed by VAR than any other team in LaLiga since the technology was introduced in 2018. Following Vinicius Junior's disallowed goal against Villarreal, the club's tally has risen to 42, well ahead of Atlético de Madrid with 22 and Barcelona with 19.
The latest incident further widened the gap at the top of the list. Vinicius thought he had doubled Real Madrid's lead against Villarreal, but his goal was ruled out following a review, with the incident also leading to his dismissal for pulling an opponent's hair.
What appeared to be a comfortable 2-0 lead instead turned into a difficult situation for the Whites, who had to finish the match with ten men following the Brazilian's red card.
MisterChip's statistics once again highlight Real Madrid's position at the top of the list of teams with the most goals disallowed following VAR reviews in Spain's top flight.
