Real Madrid have significantly reduced their activity in the transfer market. After strengthening the squad in almost every position, the club has been forced to put the brakes on further business. José Mourinho had requested two additional reinforcements, a midfielder and a center-back, but the club’s current situation makes those additions difficult to complete.

The Portuguese manager understands the circumstances but continues to believe that adding those two players would significantly improve the quality of the squad.

Real Madrid would like to meet Mourinho’s requests, but as things stand, it is not possible. With just one week remaining before the start of the season and fewer than 14 days until the transfer window closes, the feeling is that the squad will remain unchanged.

The flow of transfer rumors has also slowed considerably, with Martín Zubimendi currently the only midfielder strongly linked with Real Madrid. The club cannot make another signing simply because there are no available squad places.

For this reason, Real Madrid’s position on the transfer market is clear. According to Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, the club has made it clear that any new signing would require a current player to leave first.

The main candidates for a potential departure remain Eduardo Camavinga and Raúl Asencio. However, at this stage of the window, securing either player’s exit appears extremely difficult.
