Real Madrid has decided to appeal the yellow card shown to Aurélien Tchouameni during their 1-0 La Liga win over Getafe. The French midfielder was booked in the 69th minute after a challenge with Mauro Arambarri, with referee Sánchez Martínez citing "recklessly bringing down an opponent while fighting for the ball" in his official report.
The club disagrees with the decision and believes it was Arambarri who committed the foul, not Tchouameni—who, they argue, merely handled the ball. As it stands, this yellow card leaves the midfielder on four bookings, just one away from suspension.
This situation is particularly significant as Real Madrid hosts Celta Vigo following the Copa del Rey final. Should Tchouameni receive another yellow in that match, he would miss the crucial Clásico against Barcelona on Matchday 35. To avoid this potential blow, the club will officially appeal the decision.
