Real Madrid, in collaboration with British auction house Sotheby’s, is set to auction off parts of the old Santiago Bernabéu dressing rooms, including those used by iconic players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane, and David Beckham.
Each locker, featuring the player's name, photo, and locker, will start at a bid of £10,000 (€13,000). The auction items, which will include certificates of authenticity and details of the players who used them, date back to the 2022 season.
During the period these dressing rooms were in use, 544 matches were held at the Santiago Bernabéu, with the club winning 20 major titles, including six Champions League trophies and six La Liga titles.
Additionally, individual artworks featuring Zinedine Zidane, Sergio Ramos, and Luis Figo will be available for auction, as well as a three-meter-wide mosaic of the Santiago Bernabéu and the stadium's metal gates, priced at £12,000 and £8,000, respectively.
A portion of the proceeds will go to the Real Madrid Foundation, supporting education and social inclusion programs for vulnerable children.
"Following the historic sale of Kobe Bryant’s Staples Center locker, which fetched $2.9 million last summer, we are excited to offer these incredible relics that offer fans a glimpse behind the scenes of the Santiago Bernabéu," said Brendan Hawkes, a sports memorabilia expert at Sotheby’s.
The auction will run from November 12 for two weeks, with an exhibition of the pieces taking place from November 20 to 26 at Sotheby’s gallery in central London.
