The former referee from Lleida Xabier Estrada Fernández, who stopped being a field referee in the 2020-2021 campaign and is currently a member of the VAR team in LaLiga, has filed a lawsuit in the Barcelona investigating court against José María Enríquez Negreira and his son Javier, for the well-known 'Negreira case'.

According to the claim, Negreira offered arbitration advisory services "in order to ensure an arbitration favorable to Barça's interests."

It is also claimed that "the denounced facts violate the transparency of professional football, the good name of the referees and the integrity that must guide the behavior of this group."
