Manchester City midfielder Rodri has refused to rule out discussing his future after the World Cup, offering an intriguing response when asked about a possible transfer.

Speaking ahead of the World Cup final against Argentina, the Spain international made it clear that his full focus remains on the tournament before making any decisions regarding his club future.

"Right now, as I said before the World Cup, thinking about this, I've got a contract with my club and it's something I'll want to sort out when it's all over.

"The challenge we're facing is important enough that we can't afford to think about this just yet. Raising my game will help me make a decision.

"Obviously, I'm happy with my performance, but we're just a step away from glory now."

Rodri has been linked with Real Madrid throughout the summer, with his outstanding World Cup performances further strengthening his reputation as one of the world's top midfielders.

However, Real Madrid have yet to make a concrete move for the 30-year-old. Reports suggest Florentino Pérez remains hesitant due to the midfielder's age, profile and the financial demands involved in any potential transfer.
