Real Madrid forward Rodrygo is expected to remain sidelined until early 2027 as he continues his recovery from a serious knee injury.
According to Diario AS, the Brazil international suffered a complete anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture along with a lateral meniscus tear during a La Liga match against Getafe in March 2026. The injury ended his season and ruled him out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
After undergoing successful surgery, Rodrygo has begun a carefully managed rehabilitation program. Real Madrid's medical staff have set a recovery period of between 10 and 12 months, meaning the 25-year-old is expected to miss the first half of the 2026-27 season under José Mourinho.
The report adds that Rodrygo could return to partial training early next year as he continues his rehabilitation at the club's training facilities.
