Eric Goes, Rodrygo's father, posted three Instagram 'stories' about his son's incident with Leo Messi in the match that Brazil ended up losing 0-1 against Argentina in Maracaná.

"Really, is anyone surprised?" wrote Eric Goes in his first story, along with a Globoesporte publication with the news of the racist insults that his son was suffering and which was illustrated with an image of the discussion that Messi and Rodrygo maintained during the match.

In the second, he attacked the Argentine directly: "The saint who doesn't get into trouble with anyone.” He included, along with a photo of Tuesday's incident, another in which Messi also grabbed Mathías Olivera by the neck in the Argentina-Uruguay match played five days earlier.

In the third story, Eric Goes also came out against the racist attacks that Rodrygo was receiving through social networks. The Real Madrid player's father resorted to a lyric from Racionais MC's, a rap and hip-hop group from Sao Paulo: “Being a type A black guy is expensive.”
