It’s not uncommon for players to feel disappointed when they're left off the Ballon d'Or shortlist, and this year, Rodrygo Goes seems to be one of them. Shortly after the release of the nominees for the prestigious award, the Real Madrid forward took to social media to share a photo summarizing his accomplishments from the previous season.
In the post, Rodrygo is pictured holding the Champions League, La Liga, and Spanish Super Cup trophies—some of the titles the club secured in recent months. He humorously captioned the image with a laughing emoji, subtly acknowledging his absence from the list.
Despite not being nominated, the Brazilian had a stellar season for Real Madrid on an individual level. Rodrygo, who hails from São Paulo, scored 17 goals and provided 9 assists across 51 matches. He was a key player under Carlo Ancelotti, starting regularly in both the Champions League and La Liga, missing only four games. At just 23 years old, Rodrygo is already regarded as one of the top players in the world.
