Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes is pushing for a permanent role on the left wing as the team prepares for their upcoming La Liga clash with Real Oviedo at Estadio Carlos Tartiere on Sunday, according to ESPN.

The Brazilian, 24, has reportedly made his preference clear to manager Xabi Alonso, insisting he no longer wants to be deployed on the right flank.

“His position is already left-wing. That’s what he asked Xabi to do, and that will be his role. He doesn’t want to play on the right anymore,” ESPN reported.

Rodrygo’s demand comes at a tense moment in his Madrid career. He was left as an unused substitute during Los Blancos’ season-opening 1–0 victory over Osasuna on August 19, fueling uncertainty over his place in Alonso’s plans.

The upcoming match against Oviedo could prove decisive for his future, with his performance and role likely to be closely monitored amid growing speculation about a possible move to the Premier League.

Both Liverpool and Manchester City are said to be strongly interested, with Real Madrid open to considering offers in the region of €100 million. Rodrygo remains under contract at the Bernabéu until 2028, but his desire for a defined role could shape the next chapter of his career.
