Walter Tavares continues to strengthen his legacy in the EuroLeague. The Real Madrid center has become the competition's all-time leader in offensive rebounds, reaching 825 after collecting four against Baskonia in Round 8 and surpassing Kyle Hines, who finished his career with 824.
Already the EuroLeague's all-time leading rebounder with 2,185 total rebounds, Tavares now holds the offensive rebounding record as well. The achievement is even more impressive considering he reached the milestone in just 323 games, all with Real Madrid. Hines, by comparison, needed 425 appearances with four different teams to reach his total.
Across his 10 seasons in the competition, Tavares has averaged 2.5 offensive rebounds per game. His personal best in a single game is nine, recorded against Baskonia on October 15, 2024. He also led the EuroLeague in total rebounds during the 2020/21 season, averaging eight per game.
The Cape Verdean center holds another major record, sitting at the top of the EuroLeague's all-time blocks list with 556.
