Taylor Swift was amazed by the Santiago Bernabéu in the first of her two concerts in the Spanish capital. The famous American singer was left with her mouth open when she saw how many people there were. The look on her face said it all. "This place is huge, it just goes up and up and up. Look how many of you are here! This is wild,” she began.
It was the first major concert by an international artist as renowned as Taylor Swift and the Bernabéu was decked out for the event. The singer had not sung in Spanish territory for 13 years, since 2011, when she came to present her third album. It was on March 19, at an event held at the Palacio de los Deportes in Madrid. This time the stage was different and bigger, with capacity for around 60,000 people, and the artist was stunned to see how gigantic the Real Madrid stadium is.
13 years later, Taylor has returned as one of the great artists on the music scene, so much so that tickets have long been sold out for both concerts. She herself wondered during the concert how it was possible that this was happening to her: "You know, sometimes you wonder, how is this happening to me? You already know. I haven't been able to look at a beautiful Spanish audience in 13 years, but we are back."
