Aurélien Tchouaméni was approached by Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool last year. He was pursued by the two teams until the very end, but the midfielder ultimately chose Real Madrid.
Obviously, Tchouaméni had doubts after hearing the PSG proposition and receiving a call from Kylian Mbappé to attempt to persuade him. The French midfielder admitted to Canal+ that he thought about joining the Parisian team, but in the end, he was powerless to turn down the Real Madrid offer.
"PSG? Frankly, I thought about it. It's a very big European club and we want French clubs to succeed. But honestly, when Real Madrid calls you it's very difficult to say no," admits Tchouaméni, who now enjoys quite a bit of prominence in the club, as the undisputed starter. In fact, in the six games that the team played this season, the French player started in all of them.
