Javier Tebas commented on the outcome of the Real Madrid presidential elections during an event held in Vigo, offering his assessment of the result and the broader implications for the club.

“I think we need to do a general analysis. Florentino Pérez achieved a good victory, but this guy with a Mexican accent, whom nobody knew 15 days ago, got 35%, which isn't bad. I don't even want to imagine what might have happened if he'd had a Spanish accent and had 40 days.”

He believes Florentino Pérez should reflect on the results: “Those of us who have been in football for many years saw the real Florentino during the campaign, the one I know. He won, but a different Real Madrid emerged. Any leader, and I in my position, when 35% of clubs have a different opinion, should always think about it.”

He had no preference in the elections: “It didn’t matter to me. If we had asked them 30 days ago if anyone could run as an alternative to Florentino Pérez, nobody would have imagined it. In 20-25 days, the philosophy of the most important club in this country, along with FC Barcelona, has changed.”
