The crisis surrounding Real Madrid has reached far beyond the club itself and is now resonating across Spanish football, even drawing a reaction from La Liga president Javier Tebas. Despite his long-standing tensions with Florentino Pérez and the Madrid hierarchy, Tebas has stepped in publicly to defend Xabi Alonso, expressing confidence in the coach’s ability to navigate the current storm.

“I’ve seen this movie many times before, and I think they’re a team that can overcome these circumstances. He has ‘Real Madrid DNA,’ and I think they’ll all pull through, Xabi Alonso and the players, because they have that DNA that Xabi instilled in them from a young age,” Tebas said.

Real Madrid’s recent form has added to the pressure. With just two wins in their last eight matches, the situation has inevitably created tension within the dressing room. Even so, the coach from Tolosa continues to rely on a calm and measured message, an approach that still has the backing of the club’s president.

Tebas also offered direct advice to Alonso, encouraging him not to abandon his principles. “I would advise him to stay true to himself. He’s a successful coach, and it’s not easy to achieve that in the Bundesliga with the level of competition there. He’s perfectly prepared to turn things around,” he stated. Speaking at a La Liga event focused on combating hate in football, Tebas concluded by backing both the coach and the club: “I encourage him and Real Madrid, because they always overcome these situations.”
