It is no secret that Erling Haaland is greatly admired by Real Madrid, given his performance levels for Manchester City this year.

Haaland increased his season total to 47 goals, 32 of which have come in the Premier League, after scoring twice against Leicester City on Saturday night.

Haaland is regarded by Real Madrid as Karim Benzema's long-term successor, and they have reportedly made plans to sign the Norwegian striker next summer.

The total amount needed for a deal is anticipated to be €220 million, but Real Madrid believe that will be worthwhile because, despite being only 22 years old, Haaland has already established himself as one of the best players in the world of football.

Manchester City are likely to block any attempts from any club this summer, but with his exit clause active from next summer, they will be helpless to stop Haaland joining Real Madrid, should the player wish to make that move.
