Important news in the Negreira case . According to El Debate, four referees are being investigated for having seen their assets increase significantly. A case in which Spanish football would have been harmed, including Real Madrid. The referees are Clos Gómez, Santiago Jaime Latre, José María Sánchez Martínez and Alejandro Hernández Hernández. The first three have a favorable refereeing balance for Barcelona against Real Madrid.

With Clos Gómez, Barcelona have a winning percentage of 82.61% compared to Real Madrid's 64.29%. With Santiago Jaime Latre and José María Sánchez Martínez, 71.43% for the culés compared to 57.14% with Jaime Latre and 64% with Sánchez Martínez for Real Madrid.

Barcelona would have paid them commissions up to 7.5 million euros. The investigation takes on even greater relevance as it involves referees who are close to the former Vice President of the Technical Committee of Referees: Enríquez Negreira. The investigation provides evidence of purchases of luxury apartments, chalets and parking spaces. Many of these properties were also acquired through cash payment.

The Civil Guard is focusing on Clos Gómez, who is the current head of the VAR in Spain. We are talking here about 7 properties valued at 1 million euros in total. The acquisition of two homes and a storage room in Zaragoza took place in 2016 after just Real Madrid tied or lost three games.
