Many well-known personalities outside of sports are avid followers of the national league championship, and when they share their opinions on football, it often causes a stir. One such figure is Gabriel Rufián, the spokesperson for Esquerra Republicana in the Congress of Deputies. Known for occasionally voicing his thoughts on sports, Rufián often adds his own unique twist to these discussions.

After Barcelona's 7-0 victory over Real Valladolid on matchday four of La Liga, Rufián took to social media, specifically X, to take a jab at Real Madrid. He posted a tweet saying, "If Madrid lose or draw tomorrow, they'll even charge Negreira's grandson." This comment alludes to the 'Negreira Case,' a corruption scandal involving the former head of Spanish referees and alleged payments from FC Barcelona aimed at securing favorable officiating for the Catalan club.

One might assume Rufián is a Barça fan based on his comment, but in reality, he's a lifelong supporter of Real Club Deportivo Espanyol. Despite this, he isn't anti-Madrid either. In an interview with 'El Partidazo de Cope,' Rufián admitted, "I am an Espanyol fan and a little bit of a Real Madrid fan. I'm not a member, but I support the team."

Rufián's tweet quickly went viral, drawing a flood of reactions. One user, aware of his allegiance to Espanyol, quipped, "When you're from Espanyol, but you need votes." Other responses were more direct in their criticism, with one user saying, "You're so lazy, dude, leave it, you're pathetic."
