The mat of the Madrid coliseum is very far from showing the ideal image that it usually shows.

The poor condition of the grass is causing concern within the club, and potential solutions are already being researched. Change is one option that could be implemented. Up until the weekend of October 2, when they host Osasuna, Real Madrid will not play another game at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. Therefore, during the national team break it seems the perfect time to carry out the renovation of a pitch that is getting worse day by day.

At Real Madrid, they are both worried and upset about what happened. Real Madrid's director of institutional relations, Emilio Butragueno, gave his opinion on why the pitch at the Bernabeu was in such bad shape. "The grass has come from Extremadura and there the temperatures were very high and it has been difficult for it to acclimatise, but in the coming weeks it will improve," he said on Movistar.

It was reported earlier that the new turf, which was used for the first time in the match against Real Betis on Saturday, September 3, had been damaged by the extreme heat in the final days of August in the Extremadura plantation.

It was sown badly and the consequences are plain to see, but the expectation is that it will improve. Therefore, there are no plans to rip it up and start again, as the club are calm about the situation.

Real Madrid's challenge is to solve this situation as soon as possible. The green of the Bernabéu has always been characterized as a perfect carpet and the image it currently shows is very worrying.
