During the break for the World Cup, Real Madrid will focus on the seven renewals which still to be resolved. Contracts of seven players from the squad expire on June 30 and the club will take advantage of the break to study the situation and future of those players. However, there are already several clues about the direction that each of them could take.
For instance, it is already assumed that there are two exits. Mariano Diaz will not be considered for a new deal to remain on the merengue team. Dani Ceballos also appears to be heading in the same direction, despite having the support of some players and Carlo Ancelotti himself.
On the contrary, Marco Asensio, who seemed to leave in the summer, has managed to completely turn the situation around and will soon have a proposal to renew his contract with Real Madrid. On the other hand, the renewal of Nacho Fernández is still on 'stand-by'; while Toni Kroos and Luka Modric continue to think about their future (both are expected to make a decision in the first months of the year).
At the moment, the only continuity that "is taken for granted" at the Santiago Bernabéu is that of Karim Benzema. The Frenchman's renewal announcement is only a matter of time, and very soon he will sign up to 2024 with Real Madrid.
