At the General Assembly last Saturday, Real Madrid's delegate partners authorized a new loan of 370 million euros to complete the Santiago Bernabéu renovations. As a result, the stadium's cost will increase to $1,170 million. A figure that is more than double what the Board of Directors initially budgeted (€525 million) and which has increased due to inflation caused by the war in Ukraine, the coronavirus pandemic, and the increase in the cost of energy, as well as improvement or unplanned works, such as the greenhouse where the grass will be preserved or the new parking lots in the surrounding area.

There is not much time left to complete the pharaonic construction that will transform the Santiago Bernabéu into Europe's best stadium. "The new stadium is going to change the history of Real Madrid. And this work, one of the most important in Europe at the moment and one of the most difficult to execute, is also already an emblem of our city and our strength. All together, we must value the effort we have needed to make to reach this goal," Florentino Pérez said during his speech at the General Assembly.

As previously indicated, the total cost of the three loans requested by Real Madrid for the Santiago Bernabéu renovation is 1,170 million euros spread over 30 years at a 3% fixed rate. In this manner, the merengue entity will pay approximately 60 million per year for the next three decades. A debt easily assumed by the white club, thanks to the impressive income they will obtain through the operation of the stadium.

Real Madrid expect to earn around 400 million euros each year from the new Santiago Bernabéu. In this manner, the white club will not only be able to easily pay for stadium renovations, but they will also have enough profit for other issues such as transfers and player records. That will be really impressive.
